The participants of the Committee sitting listened to the reports of the First Deputy Minister on Internal Affairs, Chairman of the General Department on Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption S. Chernykh, and First Deputy Chairman of the General Department on Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption of Ukraine V. Kozlov on the actions to support implementation of the Law "On Organizational and Legal Principles of Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption."
The Committee members declared that requirements of the Laws "On Organizational and Legal Principles of Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption", "On Prosecuting Magistracy" and other legislative acts had not been fully implemented.
The People´s Deputies of Ukraine drew attention to the lack of the national system of organizations to implement the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons Especially Women and Children supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, the Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Air and Sea supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
Activity of the state bodies in charge of fighting organized crime, and their cooperation with other state bodies is still uncoordinated.
The Committee concluded that the public bodies and officials failed to implement the requirements of the legislative acts of Ukraine on fighting organized crime adequately, and referred its recommendations to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
